Eric Ouano is a first-year Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, advised by Prof. David Fridovich-Keil. He is primarily interested in enhancing the safety of physical AI systems by integrating ideas from control theory and generative AI, with a focus on world-model-based planning for autonomous driving.
Previously, Eric received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering with Highest Honors at UT Austin and was an undergraduate researcher in CLeAR Lab. He also participated in the GEM program at The Aerospace Corporation and completed two co-ops at ATA Engineering. Outside of research, he enjoys critiquing coffee shops and going to IKEA.
